Ariston Racing was born when Phil Moore started racing karts in the early 1990’s. The sport was just developing in the UK as something more than a leisure activity and together with some fellow enthusiasts, they entered a team endurance race around the streets of Monte Carlo. Over the next six years Ariston Racing became a regular competitor in the British Endurance Kart championship. There were many race wins and podiums along the way highlighted by becoming the 1999 British Clubmans Champions.
1999 also provided Phil with the chance to take part in the Jim Russell Race School at Silverstone where he graduated third in the class. He also competed in a series of Formula Ford races the where the worst result was a fourth place.
Racing took a step back in 2000 – 2001 when Phil went travelling around the world. On his return back to the UK he has swapped his kart for a Formula Vauxhall Lotus where he competed in the Monoposto 2002 Winter Series, finishing fifth. This was followed up last year with a full-scale assault on the 2003 Monoposto Single Seater Championship finishing 11th.
Through the winter a new car was prepared for the 2004 season. A Dallara F300 purchased from Manor Motorsports who had used this car in British F3 with Williams F1 test driver Antonio Pizzonia as the driver. Whilst it is accepted that it will take time to develope the F3 into a race winner in Mono spec, all at Ariston Racing are enthusiastic about the project and prospects in 2004.
